2010 Chinese Year of the Tiger

2010 the year of the Metal Tiger, according to Chinese astrologers, will be a year filled with sudden surprises and change. Our job is to navigate this year with aplomb. To do so will require adaptability and creativity. The stones chosen for our Year of the Tiger Line speak directly to these challenges. We are using Tiger Eye, Tiger Iron, Red Tiger Eye, Carnelian, Obsidian, and Citrine in various combinations to bring the energy and intention of an adaptive and creative mind-set into our world.

Tiger Eye is chosen, not for the obvious "name," but because of the way this stone processes light, fairly different from most others. The inclusions send the light back to you in changing shapes -- reflecting, if you will, perhaps helping you to see your path and yourself.

Obsidian has a similar purpose in that it is actually Nature's glass, made by volcanoes.

The Carnelian, our 2nd Chakra stone, may bolster and inspire you to new creative heights, living, producing, being.

Citrine, the 3rd Chakra stone, may strengthen your belief in yourself and in the fact that you are massively powerful, to the extent that none of these exterior situations have to effect you adversely.

Tiger Iron has the benefit of Tiger Eye plus Iron Hematite and the protector Red Jasper -- a powerful combination.

Red Tiger Eye, is merely Tiger Eye heated to a brownish-red tone, so it has the same properties as the Tiger Eye itself.

The Sterling Silver clasps that adorn the backs of each of these first three sets bear the Chinese symbols Good Luck, Joy, and Long Life. Thus the names of the sets.
