Care and Cleaning of Semiprecious Gemstone Healing Products

Most of the time, gently wiping with a soft cloth will be enough. If further cleaning is needed, use cool water and soft cloth. Let dry before wearing.

Do not place semi-precious gemstones in hot water, soaps, detergents, or jewelry cleaners. These semiprecious gemstones vary in hardness and porosity.

Don’t leave your semi-precious gemstones in direct sunlight, as many of them will fade, change colors, and perhaps even crack if they get too hot.

While you may use an anti-tarnish cloth on your Sterling Silver, do not use one with Silver-Plated metals, because it may take the plating off its base metal. This is why we clearly label our plated products. The silver polishing cloths will not work on Pewter, either. Just use a soft microfiber cloth on those components.

You will notice that we have also carefully, where possible, labeled the hardness of many of the gemstones. The smaller this number, the easier it is to either scratch or break that gemstone. The higher numbers, for instance the #7 of Quartz, lets you know that gemstone is very hard and will resist scratching and breaking. To give you a reference point, Talc is a #1, while a Diamond is a #10.
